Mobile handoffs, flaky Wi-Fi, aggressive middleboxes. Meridian keeps a single logical session alive across all of it, so playback never restarts from zero.

Resumable sessions

A session key travels with each request. Drop a connection, reissue against the same offset, and delivery continues from the exact byte.

Adaptive bitrate

Per-viewer ladders adjust every segment. Meridian reads real throughput and shifts rungs before the buffer ever runs dry.

Multiplexed transport

Connection reuse with bounded concurrency keeps handshakes off the hot path. One pool serves many segments without head-of-line stalls.

Token-scoped access

Every playback request carries a short-lived X-Playback-Token. Revoke, rotate, or geo-scope entitlements without touching the player.

Real-time telemetry

Rebuffer ratio, join time, and bitrate stream to your dashboards per session — not sampled, not delayed.

Anycast edge

218 POPs answer on the nearest hop. Origins stay quiet; the edge absorbs the fan-out and the retries.

Developers

One polling endpoint. The player does the rest.

The client opens a session, then long-polls for the next media window. State lives in the request — a session cookie, a sequence offset, and a playback token — so any edge node can answer.

Open a session

Authenticate once. Meridian returns a media_sid bound to the viewer and the content entitlement.

Poll for the next window

The player advances offset and pulls the following segment range. Reuse the connection; keep-alive holds the pool warm.

Recover transparently

On any drop, re-poll the same offset. Delivery is idempotent, so the viewer never sees the seam.
